Spiritscapes
"A journey through the wilderness."
Spiritscapes is an ongoing series of abstract paintings that examines the intersection of landscape, spirituality and human experience.
Inspired by the colours and atmospheres of the Australian environment, these works use gestural brushwork and layered surfaces to evoke the tension between earthly existence and transcendence.
The paintings suggest emotional and spiritual terrains rather than literal places. They invite viewers to contemplate moments of uncertainty and revelation, with the intention to consider the possibility of divine presence within the ordinary world.
There’s a thread running through this series; A longing for light, for meaning, for something holy that still feels human.
“Visual Prayers and Graffiti for the Soul”
My work explores the human longing for contentment; not the polished kind, but the gritty, unfinished kind that lives somewhere between the earthly and the divine.
I think of these abstractions as visual prayers; raw and intuitive marks that carry the energy of graffiti. They’re urgent, sometimes messy but always reaching.
This practice isn’t about answers. It’s about presence. About being honest in the in-between. The noise, the silence, the ache for peace; these are the layers I paint with.
I want people to see themselves in the work, not in a literal way, but in that universal human search for grounding, connection and something sacred hidden in the everyday.
